LeBron JamesSlovakian Daniela Hantuchova, second seed, and Czech Petra Kvitova, fifth seed, advanced to the second round of the Linz (Austria).

Hantuchova overcame Ukraine’s Kateryna Bondarenko 6-1 6-2 clear, and will rival Spanish Thursday of Carla Suarez-Navarro, who eliminated his compatriot Arantxa Parra Santonja.

For its part Kvitova 1-0 6-2 and won her match against Anastasia Rodionova of Australia, when it had to withdraw through injury.

They also played four matches to the second round, where Andrea Petkovic beat Anne Keothavong of Britain, Italy’s Sara Errani defeated Renata Voracova of the Czech Republic and Italy’s Roberta Vinci beat Sweden’s Sofia Arvidsson.

Bartoli Stosur and steadily in Osaka

The first two favorite, Australia’s Samantha Stosur and France’s Marion Bartoli continue steadily in the tournament which takes place in Osaka (Japan).

The Aussie struggled to subdue the local player Junrie Namigata by a partial 6-0, 6 -, while Bartoli also beat the Swiss unhurried Stefania Voegele by a double 6-2.

Russia’s Maria Kirilenko (N.4) withdrew injured when facing Taiwan’s Chang Kai-Chen, having fallen 6-4 in the first round, while Thailand’s Tamarine Tanasugarn in straight sets to beat American Coco Vandeweghe’s.
