postheadericon Beer Associated with Rugby and Other Sports

Watching a great game of sports has long been the activity of choice for male bonding and camaraderie. There has always been a type of beverage associated with that type of gathering, the draught or beer. Bold enough and strong enough to satisfy the taste buds of the guys watching, yet at the same time taking the edge off of any misplaced or unwarranted aggression in the room, beer has always been the lubricant for guys to say what they really feel, be completely happy about who they are and not be ashamed of it or feel the need to impress anybody.

Watching a great game that has been on everybody’s radar for weeks can be a cathartic experience for many guys. Letting go of the worries of the workplace or of relationships, the sports event allows guys to kick back with friends that have no expectations at all. Guys can joke together and give each other a hard time with a wink and a smile, knowing that everyone has everybody else’s back in this room

With Guinness, you have a beer that is as strong and laid back as the sporting event on the TV – that is why it has always been the first choice for when men get together to watch a real sport like the Rugby World Cup. Sports like that which allow guys to unleash a sort of unbridled passion on the playing field give the guys watching a sort of cathartic release, like it is actually ok to be a real red blooded, screamin’ fightin’ cussin’ guy sometimes. And Guinness is the right beer for the occasion.

Just like the players in the Rugby World Cup, Guinness has proved itself not by watering itself down or ducking and hiding, dodging its way to victory. The only way to victory in rugby is through the other guy, and the only way that Guinness does its beer is the in your face taste that has been its trademark for years.

There is no way that you couldn’t associate the strength of Guinness beer with the sport of rugby. It’s finally ok to be a guy.
