Rossi and Hayden are satisfied with the post-race test in Portugal
Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden took the long and intense day of testing after the Grand Prix of Portugal bwin to test various updates prepared by the Ducati racing department.
The two official Ducati team riders focused mainly on finding a set-up with the updates that were made to the chassis of the GP11 and expressed satisfaction at the end of the trial.
Rossi completed several rounds to find a basic set-up and shot consistently in 1’37 “. Nicky Hayden comment positively the new chassis and at the end of the day he left his fastest time under 1’38 “.
Valentino Rossi – 1’37 .382 (82 laps)
“It was good as new updates have improved the bike immediately. The bike was more sensitive to changes in the front, and this has facilitated the work with the set-up. I’ve noticed as soon as I uploaded the bike and within hours we have made steady progress. We also have an engine power delivery slightly softer than I liked it. Let’s start using it when the rotation schedule allows. I liked the Bridgestone tires has given us to try, I found very good. Of course, the other riders have also made great progress, and today is less positive distance from the front. Anyway, all that we Ducati technicians has brought to function and that gives us confidence.”
Nicky Hayden – 1’37 .463 (89 laps)
“We have been fortunate to enjoy very good weather. We have improved, I have been much faster than in qualifying, but it seems that everyone else has improved. I have done my best time with the tires in 2012, so Bridgestone made a good step with this. I started shooting with updated chassis after the meal, and have noticed a better ‘feeling’ and a good stability under braking. The engine is also much more with the bike a little softer and overall I’m satisfied.”
