Austin MotoGP circuit will be 2013 to 2022
The new circuit of Austin in Texas will host the MotoGP since 2013 and for a period of 10 years after Dorna and the circuit owners have confirmed the agreement that was coming emerging in recent days. The contract is similar to that made with Formula 1, also for 10 years, so there will be coexistence of the two disciplines over a decade.
The Moto2 Moto3 and the future are also included in the package, with the target to increase the popularity of MotoGP in the United States. The figure of Kevin Schwantz has been key to mediate between owners and Dorna, as is manager of safety facilities. Be completed in 2012 to premiere works with Formula 1 and from 2013 it will cover both events.
School Herman Tilke, the circuit called the Americas has 20 turns, 11 left and 9 right, has great slopes and the particularity of completion in the opposite direction of clockwise, such as Indianapolis and Laguna Seca. A good scenario certainly can attract good sponsors like Texas oil.
So far nothing is known about the expansion of Laguna Seca in 2012 and Moto3 Moto2, although this agreement may be an incentive to also occur. Now we must see that the circuit goes down or if the World Cup calendar is extended further evidence within two years.
