NBA Rookie of the Year

Another of the prizes that are awarded annually by the National Basketball Association’s Rookie of the Year (NBA Rookie Of The Year Award). This is an award given annually to the most outstanding player who played his first season in the league.
The Rookie of the Year began performing in the 1952-53 season and is chosen by a panel of sports journalists from Canada and the United States, selecting players who will receive the first, second and third.
A l winner is awarded the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy, the name given to honor the coach for the Philadelphia Warriors. Most players who have received this award have also achieved the MVP of the season, such as Wilt Chamberlain and Wes Unseld. A total of 19 were included in the Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, a Recognitions for players who have shown great skill in this field of sport.
For three seasons, the award was divided into two players, as in the case of Dave Cowens and Geoff Petrie, Jason Kidd and Grant Hill and Elton Brand and Steve Francis. The most recent winner of the 2009-10 season is Tyreke Evans, of Sacramento Kings.
