NBA Coach of the Year
Another annual awards are granted, particularly since the 1961-62 season is the Coach of the Year in the NBA . The award was opened to the former player and coach Harry J. Gallatin, when disputing with the St. Louis Hawks team, and his latest receiver Scott Brooks has been with Oklahoma City Thunder.
Both were at the time the Red Auerbach Trophy, named after the famous coach makes the Boston Celtics who led the NBA for nine seasons, from 1956 to 1966. The vote is done by the hand of U.S. journalists and Canada, who have to vote for first, second and third coach they want.
The first option is worth a total of 5 points, the second a total of three and the third place is awarded one point. After the counting of points, the coach will get more gifted in that season.
Pat Riley got a total of three prizes playing with different teams: Los Angeles Lakers , New York Kicks and Miami Heat, but Don Nelson also won three trophies. After these two, with a total of two awards, followed by Hubie Brown, Bill Fitch, Cotton Fitzsimmons and Gene Shue.
