LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers have exercised their fourth-year contract option on guard Eric Gordon and their third-year option on forward Blake Griffin.
Both players are secured through the 2011-12 season with the moves announced Tuesday.
Gordon was the seventh overall pick in the 2008 draft. He has averaged 16.4 points and 2.9 assists in his two seasons with the Clippers, and he played a key role for the U.S. national team in the world championships this summer.
Griffin still is a rookie after missing all of last season with a broken left kneecap. The former Oklahoma star was the top pick in the 2009 draft.
Griffin is fully healthy and ready to play for the Clippers, who formally opened training camp practices Tuesday.
